Cabo de la vela is an amazing place to discover in motorbike. At the entrance of the Guajira desert, you will witness an arid and stunning landscape with sunset as you have rarely seen. Meet the Wayuus, the native people living in the area for centuries.
Day 1
Santa Marta Riohacha (5h)
Warming up on the back roads of Paso del Mango.
Lunch at Palomino, a must see little village on the coast
Sunset on the Riohacha beach, the capital of Guajira state.
Spending the night and getting ready for the next day to enter the desert
Riohacha Cabo de la Vela ( 5h)
- Driving along the coast, passing by Mayapo beach to reach Uribia, the Indigenous Wayuu capital.
- We will arrive at Cabo de la Vela in the afternoon, visit the “Sugar mountain” and the beach in the area
Cabo de la Vela – Palomino (6/7h )
- We Wake up for Sunrise and have breakfast
- We hop on our bikes and start the to drive through the multi color salt fields of Manaure and try to see Flamingos.
- We reach Dibulla or Palomino and spend the night near the beach.
Dibulla- Santa Marta (5h)
- We Wake up for Sunrise and have breakfast
- We go in the mountains/Jungle of the Sierra Nevada, visit waterfalls and beach of Tayrona Park before heading back to Santa Marta in the evening
